We love our Meet the Team series and giving you the chance to get to know us a little better. This week, we are pleased to introduce you to our Finance Assistant, Victoria.
Vikki’s journey to Insight was fascinating. “I went into finance straight from school and worked at Barclays Bank. After that, I moved to London and went into Legal Billing in a top law firm. I then had my two children and took a career break from finance, and I was a teaching assistant in their school. In December 2018, the call of finance brought me back to Insight.”
Five years later, we can safely say we are very glad that Vikki returned to the world of finance!
The proud moments
“Successfully juggling my career and caring for my family has to be one of the things I am proudest of. That, plus continuing some studies as a mature student.”
When asked if there was a particular client moment that she was proud of, Vikki couldn’t choose just one. “It’s difficult to pinpoint a single success story. It’s more about the continued daily support that helps our clients appear more professional to their clients and gives them the financial agility to respond to opportunities.”
Vikki’s day in the office
Vikki’s working days are always busy. “I’m usually one of the first to arrive in the office, so it’s still quiet! I check emails to deal with anything urgent, then get on with the daily routine tasks such as posting bank transactions and updating cashflows for our clients. Depending on the day, I could be making payments on a client’s behalf, processing purchase invoices or raising their sales invoices. Meetings with clients via Teams is also an increasing feature of my days.”
Reflecting on her work, Vikki considered how Insight Associates has had a positive impact on clients, “Most of our clients are not ‘finance people’ and I think by having Insight in their lives and businesses, it takes that pressure off them to concentrate on the things they love about their own work.”
Working at Insight
Vikki enjoys the variation of her job and, thankfully for us, admits that the people aren’t so bad either! “I get to be involved in a variety of tasks for a variety of our clients – this keeps things interesting and very busy. I think the people here make the job most enjoyable though…but please don’t tell them I said that!” When it comes to the company’s culture, Vikki appreciates the friendly atmosphere and open-door policy of managers. “Someone is always on hand to help without making you feel like a burden.”
Any fun facts?
We asked Vikki for a surprising fact about herself, but she insisted she didn’t have any. “I wish there were something, but as most people know, I am a completely open book – some might say an over-sharer!”
And if she were to be stranded on a desert island, Vikki would definitely make the most of the situation. “How many people/things am I allowed to take? Because you say desert island, I say holiday destination…”

Why it’s difficult to see the present clearly…
To create a strong business strategy you need clarity on where you are going and where you are today.
