The challenge
In December 2019, we began working with TEDI-London, a specialist centre of higher education catering to the next generation of British Engineers. It offers a degree course in Global Design Engineering, bridging disciplines including mechanical, electrical, civil, environmental and product design.
Normally when we start working with clients, there are a lot of old systems and processes to unpick before we can put the foundations in place for a top-tier finance function. For the team at Insight Associates, working with a start-up organisation like TEDI-London was an exciting opportunity to build a quality finance department from the ground up.
As a start-up company with relatively low initial finance requirements, TEDI-London reviewed its finance solution options and selected Insight Associates to run its finance back office, rather than hiring in-house.
Insight Associates set up the institution’s finance function, banking and payroll systems from scratch, working with TEDI-London’s IT team to link the invoicing system with the student database to facilitate invoice generation. We also designed a monthly reporting pack using iplicit, so that the management team could make strategic decisions based on accurate financial data.
Fast forward three years and the institution is going from strength to strength.
